**photos and videos to come**
Sunday morning we left Minneapolis for Prior Lake, MN to visit Jesse's great-aunt Marion. She was very sweet and made us english muffins and scrambled eggs. :) And her house has an elevator!! Super cool. She had a great Brooklyn accent despite at least 30 years of living in Nebraska and 4 in Minnesota.
I was super exhausted and wiped out from the driving and the time changes and not drinking enough water, so I basically slept the entire way to Chicago. We stopped about 2 hours from the Windy City and I took over driving. We of course took the tollway that had like 5 toll plazas with weird amounts like $0.80 and $1.60...what?! We finally made it to our hotel, The Ambassador East, about 9:30pm which was an hour after we originally thought. We walked into our room and it was not ready...I saw unmade sheets and was afraid there may be someone in there!!! We promptly headed down to the lobby and the manager upgraded us to an executive suite. It's pretty nice. We headed down for dinner in the Pump Room (swankaaay!). They kept the kitchen open for us, which was nice. We passed out after that.
This morning we slept in and left the hotel about 11:30am. We had a small, late breakfast at The Third Coast Cafe and set off to the Hancock Center. We did the tour of the observatory and learned a lot about the city. We took the Red Line train to the Field Muesum and got ahold of Britt, my former boss. She jinxed us and it started raining!! We spent about an hour in the museum and when we came out to meet up with her, it was beautiful and sunny, but HOT! We chatted for about an hour and then she dropped us off at Giordano's Pizzeria on Rush and Superior. Yum!!
We had planned on a walk along the beach to Lincoln Park, but it's raining again. On our walk home from dinner we passed a Lamborghini and Bentley shop, a Prada shop, and a Liposuction Institute...we are in the rich neighborhood. :-p
I'll post pictures and video later!! Love you!
